MEET CHEVY

Meet Chevy. A rustic Tioga motorhome made in 1987, runs like a dream and is as old as I am. Four days after we landed in California we bought him and named him after Chevy Chase. He has more character than any brand spanking new motorhome we have crossed paths with on the American road.

In just over 30 days Chevy has led Kieran and I from California to Arizona, from Arizona to Texas and all the wonders in between. Yesterday, we were alerted by tornado sirens on the streets of Dallas and were forced to leave Chevy behind to run for a safer shelter. Whilst we were in the cover a lady next to us was on the phone to her husband that said trucks and semi-trailers were being blown away by heavy winds not too far from here. My stomach dropped. But when the weather decided to play nice again, Kieran and I stepped outside to see Chevy there in his fine form and glory.

My mother has been hassling me for some photographs of what Chevy looks like inside. And because I am so darn proud of our little man at the moment, I thought I would share this all with you.

Happy now Mum?

  1. My old car was Chevy and I loved it and seeing your pictures reminds my pleasant memories. Me and my family enjoy camping and I can imagine how nice the whole vacation will be if we could have a van like yours. I also like very much the inner decoration you made. I really enjoyed reading your blog.
